1.) Nice & Easy Oyster Bar located in Orange City will begin hosting poker on Saturday evenings beginning on March 6. Registration at 6 PM and Play at 7 PM. Please note that there was a typo on the schedule handed out at the Final Tournament.
2.) American Legion Post 127 located in Lake Helen will begin hosting poker on Thursday evenings beginning on March 18. Registration at 6 PM and Play at 7 PM.

Congratulations to TONI DAVIS winner of the Season 14 Final Tournament. Toni represented Mickey Finns and Chop Shop and did a great job coming from back in the pack to capture the First Place trophy.
Second place went to Paul Cooper of Brevard County.
Third place went to Mike Faherty of Brevard County.
Fourth place went to Jeff Marr of Brevard County. Jeff will be missed by the dealers of VEI. Catherine and I will miss you most. You have always been a great asset as our Tournament Director. Nice Job and Thank you. Your bobble-head trophy is being fixed and hopefully we can get it to you next week.

1.) Chopper & Chaps located across from the Flagler Bar & Liquor Store will begin hosting poker on Tuesday nights beginning February 2nd. Registration at 6 PM and Play at 7 PM.
2.) The Space Station located at the Clarion in Merritt Island will begin hosting VEI poker on Thursday nights beginning February 4th. Registration at 6 PM and Play at 7 PM.
3.) South Turn located in South Daytona at the Office Depot strip mall will begin hosting Saturday afternoon poker beginning on February 20th. Registration at 2 PM and Play at 3 PM.

Temporary Cancelations:

1.) Racing’s North Turn will not hold Poker Tournaments on February 10th due to Race Week activities.
2.) Chop Shop will not hold Poker Tournaments on February 7th due to Super Bowl activities.

We will no longer be doing poker tournaments at the following locations:

1.) Sunshine Lanes – Smackers Lounge because the do not wish to pay for the number of players we bring them.
2.) Kaye’s Place in Port Canaveral due to lack of players.
3.) Chop Shop on Sunday evenings in DeLand for unknown reasons. The owners never called VEI they just informed one of the dealers.

VEI would like to welcome Samantha Zullo as our new webmaster. Samantha spent the past week getting our website back and up-to-date. The Winners Circle is basically the last thing that needs to be updated and I will provide that information to her just as soon as I get the results from January 31st into the databases and correct all of the dealer misspellings that I can find.

Samantha, we recognize this has been a very difficult time for you, with Gary’s passing, but we really appreciate all you have gotten done for us this past week.

We were notified on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Noon that we will no longer be providing poker to Kings Duck Inn as they are moving to an In-House game. However, Shuttles is willing to pick up those events on Saturday and Sunday, effective January 24, with this change on both days Registration will be at 2 PM and Play at 3 PM.

In addition, Kaye’s Place located in Port Canaveral is moving from Friday nights to Monday night beginning on February 1, 2010. Registration at 6 PM and Play at 7 PM.

New Venues:

1.) The Nameless Bar located at the bowling lanes in Merritt Island will be hosting VEI poker tournaments on Wednesday and Friday. Registration at 6 PM and Play at 7 PM. Poker begins on January 27 and 29.
2.) Choppers & Chaps located in Bunnell across from Flagler Bar will be hosting VEI poker tournaments on Tuesday’s beginning on February 2, 2010. Registration is at 6 PM and Play at 7 PM.
3.) The Space Station located at the Clarion on SR 520 in Merritt Island will be hosting VEI poker tournaments on Thursday’s beginning on February 4, 2010. Registration is at 6 PM and Play at 7 PM.

Temporary Cancelations:

1.) Kaye’s Place located in Port Canaveral is moving from Friday nights (No Poker January 29) and will resume on Monday night February 1, 2010.
2.) Racing’s North Turn located in Ponce Inlet will not be holding poker on February 10, 2010 due to “Race Week” celebrations.

VEI Players, I have just been informed that our webmaster passed away yesterday. We will miss him and I am deeply saddened. Gary fought a blood disease for the past year but finally succumbed to pnuemonia this past weekend.

Gary’s wife Samantha has provided the following information regard services and their wishes for donations. “Gary’s services are scheduled for tomorrow. I have asked in lieu of flowers for people to make a donation to the leukemia and lymphoma society in memory of Gary. The LLS has been very important for us and more so now because I feel more indebted to help them raise money to get a cure for this awful disease.”

You can make donations to the dealers to be handed in to VEI and one large donation can be made. Gary, kept our website up-to date on a 24 hour basis whenever we needed something done. Ours was not the only website he managed in addition to his full time job. Gary, lived down near Miami so we will not be able to attend any service from him. But, our heart goes out to his wife Samantha and Carol his mother.

We are saddened that after fighting cancer all year Gary game down with pnuemonia over the Christmas Season and is in ICU. Therefore, many updates and edits are on hold until he is released or we can find someone to fill in for him temporarily. If you know Word Press 2.0 let us know. We will keep you updated on Gary.
